Library is the heart of educational institutes: R.P Sanadhya
Speaking on the occasion of World Book Day, Professor R.P Sanadhya, Principal of Lokmanya Tilak Teacher's Training College expressed his views on the importance of libraries and how its value is literally ignored in this current scenario.
Speaking on the occasion of World Book Day, Professor R.P Sanadhya, Principal of Lokmanya Tilak Teacher’s Training College expressed his views on the importance of libraries and how its value is literally ignored in this current scenario.
A discussion session was held today at Lokmanya Tilak Teacher’s Training College where many librarians and professors took part.
“In the new educational policies, health education, information technology etc are added in the study syllabus but library science is kept apart. However to begin any new educational institute, the first thing to mention is a library,” said Prof Sanadhya.
He said that library is the heart of any institute. While mentioning that why it is important for a teacher to learn library science, Prof said, “Library management, categorization and exploring element will help teacher to get intellectual enhancement.”
Dr. Saroj Garg said, “Instructions for Library Management is mentioned in Manu Smriti.” She informed that, Dr S.R Rangnathan was the founder of School of Library Science in India.
