Udaipur, December 9, 2024 - The president of Lions Club International, Fabrício Oliveira from Brazil, and his wife, Amariles Oliveira, will arrive in Udaipur on a two-day visit on December 11.
Lion V.K. Ladiya, Lions Club International's former director, informed that the guests will inaugurate a dialysis centre at the Lions Bhavan in Hiran Magri Sector 4. The chief guest for the inauguration ceremony will be Rahul Agarwal, founder and chairman of PMC&H.
The dialysis centre has been built at a cost of Rs 80 lakhs with the help of Lions Club International Foundation and around 25 local donors. The centre is equipped with six modern dialysis machines and will provide free dialysis to the underprivileged and economically weak BPL kidney patients.
Ladiya added that this is the first large-scale project of its kind in the city by a voluntary organisation established on its own premises. This will also be the first time the Lions Club International president will be attending the inauguration of such a project. The centre will be managed by Pacific Medical College and Hospital, located in Bhilon ka Bedla. Dialysis for kidney patients will be carried out by kidney specialists of PMC&H, Dr Ashutosh Soni and his team.
Lion Arvind Sharma, former chairman of Lions Club's Multiple Council, said that in Udaipur, Lions Club has been running permanent service projects at various locations, including Maharana Bhupal Hospital, thereby benefiting thousands.
Areception will be held at the Ramada Encore Hotel on December 11 to welcome Oliveira and his wife, said Harish Acharya of Lions Club. Donors and selected Lions Club members will be honoured with medals and certificates.
GK Somani from Lions Club Udaipur informed that on December 12, president Fabrício will hold a meeting with the district governors and past district governors of Lions Club District 3233E-2 to discuss upcoming service projects. The same day, president Fabrício will meet with Lakshyaraja Singh of Mewar at the City Palace, said Lions Club Region chairman, Lion KV Ramesh. In the evening, they will tour Udaipur and then depart for Bengaluru on December 13.
