The magic of the Sitar, playing the Raag Malhar, created a wave of serenity over the Lake Pichola, when Goan Maestro Laxmikant Khandekar presented his art in “Malhaar”, a musical event organized by the West Zone Cultural Centre, under the joint association of Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi and Goa Government Cultural Secretariat.
Organized on the Bank of the Pichola, the two day event began in the evening of 24th August with Khandekar giving his performance on the Sitar. Giving him company were Ustaad Chhote Rehmat Khan, Pandit Yograj Nayak of the famed Itawa Gharana, Ustaad Shahid Pervez Khan, Shakir Khan and Dixit Khandekar.
The Monsoon season prevalent in the City was given its due respect when the danseuse from the Jaipur Gharana presented Kathak, wherein they presented the three vibrant aspects of the Monsoon.
Rekha Thakar, a prominent Kathak Dancer has presented many forms of the dance.
The last program was Mayur Dance presented by Ashok Sharma of Uttar Pradesh and his team.
