Western Zone Cultural Centre is organising a 2-day cultural song and dance programme “Malhar” at Shilpgram auditorium on Aug 20 and Aug 21.  The programme will begin at 7 pm on both days and there will be no entry fees towards the same.

On the first day, renowned Karnataka vocal artist Sudha Raghuram will start the proceedings at 7:00 pm. She has performed in leading events like Tansen Festival, Tamil Sangam Mauritius, Pt. Ravi Shankar Institute Music Festival amongst others. She has also been awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan award by the Sangeet Naatak Academy.

This will be followed by a performance from well known Odissi dancer Nivedita Mahapatra. Nivedita has been a recipient of junior and senior fellowship from Cultural Ministry, Govt of India. She has performed globally including USA, Great Britain, Switzerland, Nepal and others. She is also an exceptional choreographer.

On Aug 21, the proceedings will begin with a dance-skit by Delhi based group Sadhya. The group will present their dance-skit Mystic Forest based on Chhau style. The dance-skit will showcase various forms of dance, play along with music and light combinations.

Finally, the programme will culminate with a Kathak performance by noted Jaipur artist Praveen Gangani.  He will give the performance along with his colleagues.
