50 students from Mumbai’s College of Mass Communication visited Udaipur’s
Lakecity Press Club to interact with media and journalism professionals as part of their educational tour.
Second and third year students of
Smt. Maniben M.P Shah Women’s College, Matunga met Udaipur based journalists, media personnel while discussing various informative topics related to the field of mass communication and media at Lakecity Press Club. Dialogue session started at 12:30pm and continued for more than one hour between students and journalists where students asked questions regarding career in journalism, media’s role in society, ethics of media and basic problems reporters faced by reporters while working. Journalists from all leading print and electronic media were present in the session. Lakecity Press Club’s President Akhtar Khan said that
“Journalism is a tree with different branches, we all (professionals) are divided in our respective fields of branch and such educational tours give us equal opportunity to share our experiences to these students, it was a great experience for us and we hope students of MP Shah Women’s college also enjoyed talking, I wish them all the best for their bright future in media industry.” Prabha Nair, Vice principal of the college said, “it’s a great experience till now, we enjoyed a lot. It’s a complete new world for our students.” Rudhra M student of SYBMM journalism said, “I hate working on table, I like challenging work and that’s why journalism is best I see for my career.” Jheel, student of TYBMM advertising said that Udaipur is a wonderful place to live, people are so good. It is a pollution free city as compared to Mumbai.”
