Mining Engineers mark Indian Mining Day

The Mining Engineers Association of India, Rajasthan chapter, Udaipur in collaboration with The Institution of Engineers (India), Udaipur local center celebrated Indian Mining Day at M.P. Baya Auditorium. The day was celebrated keeping the theme 'Mining Mineral Resource Essential for Nation Prosperity' in mind.

Baya Auditorium. The day was celebrated keeping the theme ‘Mining Mineral Resource Essential for Nation Prosperity’ in mind.

The Deputy Director General of Mine Security, B.P. Ahuja, also the chief guest of the function stated that under Scientific and Mining Safety, changing the mining lease from one hectare to four hectare would see an increase in mineral production and royalty. He also mentioned the need of comprehensive improvement in teaching institutes.

D.S.Maroo, president of Mining Engineers Association of India, Rajasthan Chapter, Udaipur welcomed all the guests and said that in comparison to 1949, where there was a tapping of around 17 minerals, today that has increased to 57 new kinds of minerals which in turn has incurred a revenue of Rs. 3088 Crore in this year in the state.

Engineer A.K. Kothari (Vice President, Minning Engineers Association of India, Rajasthan Chapter, Udaipur) gave oath to all present mining engineers who came from various parts of the country for the development and prosperity of Indian Mining Industry.

Engineer A.S. Chundawat also informed about the activities conducted by the association.

The program was also attended by H.V Paliwal (Former Director of Hindustan Zinc Limited) and Arvind Singhal (Managing Director of Wolkem India) who were present their as chief guests.

Engineer Kabir Gosh (Director of Mining Operation HZL) was the keynote speaker of the event. As per the information provided through the authorities, around 120 engineers from Udaipur region took part in this program.
