National Seminar on Problems of Mining Industry and Technology Advancements started today at College of Technology and Engineering (MPUAT).

The two day conference is attended by 300 mining engineers from 28 states and 10 foreign delegates from China, Australia, Canada and Iran.

A.K Bagchi, president of Mining Association of India while addressing the guests talked about developments in the mining industry and what are the main problems faced by the miners. He said that over 60000 lease orders of mining are still pending which is affecting the growth of industry.

D. S Maru, secretary of Mining Association of India informed that state government has earned Rs.2838 Crore from mining and the target of next year is Rs.3200 crore. He said, “We are working on solving the problems related to dumping and environment friendly mining.”

Arvind Singhal – Wolkem India, Akhilesh Joshi – Chief Executive Office, Vedanta, Vimal Patni – Chairman, R.K Marbles, Vikram Golcha – Golcha Industries, P.C Dhariwal – J.K Cement, A.K Agarwal – ex- executive director Hindustan Zinc, A.K Kothari – ex Mining Director and D.S Maru- Mining Director, Government of Rajasthan were honored for their significant contribution in mining industry.

Several sessions were conducted on the first day of seminar which included plenary and technical sessions. 17 research papers were presented during the sessions.
