The Annual Cultural Fest of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Swarnim-2012 ended today with crowning of Mr and Miss Swarnim. Avinash Nandawat of CCMS honored as Mr Swarnim and Tanushree Manaya of Arts College became Miss Swarnim 2012. The Annual Cultural Fest used to be known as Gavri till last year but this year Paramveer Singh; the Student President changed the name to Swarnim in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the M.L.S University. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot graced the events of the annual fest on Saturday. Today, the fest saw three competitions in the MLSU Auditorium. The Group Dance competition was won by: Raunak and Group and the Group Singing Competition was won by Mukesh and Group.

Avinash Nandawat of CCMS and Tanushree Manaya of CSSH were declared as Mr and Miss Swarnim respectively. Paramveer said that Swarnim provided a platform to all the participants and the winners will now be sent to Jaipur and then to Delhi to participate in various activities at state and national levels.

The judges for the final day events of Swarnim, Om Kumawat from Adinath Teacher Training College said, “I’ve been watching the discipline in fests decline over years. The youth in the past used to put in every effort to make do and win every obstacle that hinders them. Nowadays, youngsters are more talented and hence have become more casual towards such events.” Dr Ramesh Nagda, Principal of Danobas Teacher Training College commented, “It’s been our first time as a judge to this University, but apart from this we’ve been watching the fests progress. It’s been an excellent adventure.”
