Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, the renowned Mohan Veena pioneer and classical singer Dr. Ajoy Chakraborty gave the audience an evening to remember for a long time at the second day of the 50th Maharana Kumbha Sangeet Samaroh.

Dr. Chakraborty and the Mohan Veena protagonist Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt enthralled the audience with the various alaaps and introduced the audience to the purity that is music.

The various intrinsic (micro) elements the Rajasthani Maand were introduced by Dr. Chakraborty, and these were a result of years of practice and learning.  He said, “Rajasthani Maand has been my special interest and I have spent many years in practicing and learning it.”

As per him, a child should be introduced to music right from the early years, so that the learning can be phased and music can be built into the personality.

Earlier, the auditorium of the Sukhadia Rangmanch echoed with loud applause when Pandit Bhatt gave a rendition to his prime composition, “A Meeting by my river”.

Before this, Pandit Bhatt started with renditions of the Raag Maaru Bihag, where he presented quite a few alaaps which gave the audience and listeners an idea of the purity of music.

Pandit Bhatt surprised everyone by singing a few lines of “aao ji padharo mahre desh…maahre desh ro koi karu bakhaan…” along with his musical presentation.
