MTIFF (Mother Teresa International Film Festival) is going to take place from 25-27th March 2011 in Udaipur.

This three day film festival will showcase special movies based on life and characteristics of Mother Teresa including various other programs like painting competition on 27th at Sukhadia Rang Manch.

Mother Teresa International Film Festival from 25th MarchA preparatory meeting was held on 26th February by the core committee and other respected members of Christian community of Udaipur at St. Paul’s school where the planning and prosecution of the event were discussed to its conclusion.

Concept, venues, management and sponsorship were few important topics discussed by the members of committee.

In a telephonic conversation with Dr. Norbert Herman SVD, member of core committee, said that three venues have been decided in the meeting, and the films will be screened at Chetak Cinema, Hotel Vishnupriya and Sukhadia Rang Manch.

Dr. Norbert who is also the director of Maitri Sadan, body of Sarv Dharm Maitri said that the main objective of this event is to show people the love and compassion of Mother towards humanity, let’s people meet and understand the most valued but some most missing human nature of love, peace and harmony. Our Aim is to spread the global message of Mother through this event.

“No Saint nor Blessed in the Catholic Church’s history had an International Festival of Films dedicated to her,” says Salesian Father C. M. Paul, who was Coordinator of the first mtiff in 2003.

In 2010 MTIFF organized the film festival in Kolkata where more than 20 feature films were showcased including some well known flims like Call within a Call, Mother Teresa , MT The Legacy and Mother and her world to name a few.

Mother Teresa was one of the famous and most respected catholic nun also known as “angel of mercy” and “flame in the slum” who appeared as the saintly figure to not only the Christian community but all religious and social groups of the world. She was honored by Bharat Ratna and Noble Prize.

Mother Teresa was born in 26th august 1910 in Albania and moved to India where she got Indian citizenship. She died on 5th September 1997.
