‘Motherhood’ celebrated at Shakti Sunday

NGO Shakti Challenge candidates then moved the audience with touching presentations on Divya Mothers Milk Bank donors & beneficiaries as well as on the heroic work of Animal Aid Unlimited.
The Collectorate and Advaiya Corp also unveiled their new ActionUdaipur.com website which is designed to help activists throughout Udaipur recruit volunteers and government help for worthy projects large and small.
A special eco-aesthetic highlight of the evening was the provocative garbage culture presentation by award-winning artists Brydee Rood and Chiman Dangi. Their dramatic performance art and videos prompted new reflections on our littered streets and the things we throw away.
Kiran Paneri’s lovely young Shivam Natya Kata Kendra crew also delighted the crowd with their precocious skill in modern kathak and graceful choreography.
The evening ended with a superb skit on motherhood by mime prodigy Kiran Janve followed by charming films on children’s rights and kids dancing all over the stage.
The next Shakti Sunday on May 25th will celebrate Mewar’s rich tribal heritage and everyone involved with tribal rights, development and culture is invited to participate.
