GAVANRINA-2012, a music competition under the joint collaboration of Nishad Music and Drama Training Centre and College of Music, C.P.S with Maheshvaram Kala Sansthan, Aahvan and Intivation and G.E Technology is being organized on 17^th June at CPS, New Bhopalpura, Udaipur.

The program will include vocal and instrumental music; dance and drama. The singing competition will have singers singing classical, semi-classical, light vocal, folk and all other forms of vocal music. Instrumentalists playing any instrument can take part in the competition.

All forms of dances, including classical, semi-classical, western and folk will be performed. Under the Drama event, participants can perform individually, in doubles or in groups.

The time limit for each performance will be five minutes. The participants will be divided into two age groups of 0-9 and 9-18 yrs.

In every activity, the first three winners will be given a prize and a certificate and along with this there will be four consolation prizes.

The Chief Guest for the program will be Arunesh Mishra and Mahesh Ameta. Theatre Artists, Deepak Dixit and Gajendra Chittora and Director of C.P.S, Alka Sharma will be the special guests.

Avadh Kishore Pandya, Director, College of Music, C.P.S, said, “Various events featuring different forms of music have been organized earlier in Udaipur but this is the first event where all the forms will be performed together. This competition will give rise to cultural goodwill amongst people. He further added that to take part in the competition, one must contact the Music Department at C.P.S.
