The two-day event will feature 'Birsa Munda' theatrical show on November 16 at 7:00 pm
Udaipur, November 16, 2024: The two-day National Tribal Festival, organised by the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC) on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, commenced yesterday at 6:00 pm with cultural performances at the open-air theatre of Shilpgram.
Furqan Khan, director of the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, said that the event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. On the first day of the festival, folk artists captivated the audience with vibrant performances. Approximately 150 artists from across the country participated. Performances included:
Today, November 16, a theatrical performance titled Birsa Munda, based on the life of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, will be staged at the Darpan Auditorium in Shilpgram from 7:00 pm. Entry is free.
An art exhibition featuring paintings created during a five-day camp themed Ek Bharat, Samagr Bharat was also inaugurated. The exhibition showcased artwork created in Shilpgram.
The Chief Guest of the event was Udaipur MP Mannalal Rawat. Guest of Honour was Dr S.L. Bamaniya, Chief Medical and Health Officer of Udaipur. Deputy director Pawan Amarawat, assistant director Durgesh Chandwani and program executive Hemant Mehta welcomed the guests.
