North-East Painters’ Camp Begins Under Octave 2026
The camp is being organised under Octave 2026 by the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, under the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with RIC
UdaipurTimes, Sept 29, 2026 - A seven-day painters’ camp was inaugurated on Monday, September 28, at Lower Ground Exhibition Hall No. 3 of the Rajasthan International Centre (RIC) in Jaipur. The camp is being organised under Octave 2026 by the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, under the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with RIC.
The main Octave 2026 event will be held from October 1 to 4.
Dr Ashwin M Dalvi, Director of the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, said the objective of Octave 2026 is to introduce people from other parts of the country to the folk art and culture of Northeast India.
Addressing the participating artists, Dr Dalvi urged them to make every effort to ensure their paintings showcase the rich art and culture of Northeast India to art lovers in Rajasthan, particularly Jaipur. He said an exhibition of the paintings created during the camp, as well as works previously created by the participating artists, would also be organised.
Former Director of the West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, Furqan Khan provided information about the Octave event.
