District Administration and Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) Udaipur jointly organized a painting exhibition at Fatehsagar Paal today. The exhibition showcased artwork of recently held workshop ‘Imagination through Art’.
The two day exhibition started at Fatehsagar Paal was formally inaugurated by Ashutosh Pednekar, District Collector, Udaipur. In the exhibition more than 150 paintings were displayed for locals. The artists also exhibited their random art work in the exhibition.
According to Ram Niwas Mehta, Secretary, UIT, “Over 40 artists participated in the workshop held from 2nd – 4th June. Each artist was provided with a canvas and other required materials.”
Mehta added that apart from the paintings made in the exhibition, artists were asked to include their other paintings. Motto behind exhibition was to promote both art and artists. The paintings made by each artist will be sold for Rs.5000, as fixed by district administration. The remaining ones can be sold at any price as quoted by its respective artist.
“The money collected from the sale of 40 paintings will be distributed over two equal parts. First half will be given to the respective artist, while second half will be kept in separate fund for further activities. The rule is applicable on 40 paintings only,” added Ram Niwas Mehta.
