The 2 day long photography competition cum exhibition organized by Lakecity Press Club in the memory of famous photo journalist Late Jaykant Sharma was concluded today at Information Centre.

The panel of three judges, Mr. Vikramaditya Singh (Wildlife Photographer), Mr. Furqan Khan (Administrative Officer and Photographer), Mr. Basant Kashyap (Art Lecturer and Photographer), declared the top 3 photographs in three different categories- amateur, professional and photo journalist. Chief Guest for the closing ceremony was Mr. Harish Rajani, Director Sunrise Group of Institutes.

25 year old Madhur Shastri (in photo) won the 1^st prize for his photograph “hypnotic eyes”. Madhur is a research student. He won this prize in amateur photography category.

Second prize in the same category was grabbed by Amit Gupta, a businessman who started photography as his passion few years back. Amit has won the prize for his photograph “common kingfisher”

The third prize in amateur category was honored to Irfan Ali, his artistic photograph “blooming colors” fascinated the eyes of judges.

The second category was dedicated to professional photographers who either have their own studio or work as a photographer.

In professional category the first and second prize was grabbed by one contestant Sharad Agarwal for his photographs “Bathing Girl” and “Pelican”

Sharad (in photo)said that it’s his life’s great achievement. Quoting on his photograph “bathing girl” sharad said that it was his good luck that he got a perfect timing to capture that shot.

Mrs. Varsha Lohar got the third prize for her photograph “Reflection”

All winners were honored by a certificate and a momento.

The last category was dedicated to Udaipur’s photo journalists

1^st prize was given to Kailash Tank, working from Udaipur express for his photograph “ do phool”

2^nd prize was honored to Tarachand Gawaria from Dainik Bhaskar for his photograph “ aandhi”

And 3rd Pirze was given to Krishna from Rajasthan Patrika

This was the only category were the top winner was rewarded with cash prize of Rs. 5000.
