On the occasion of World Photography Day, Udaipur Times and HERE Technologies are pleased to announce Udaipur’s first ever GEO TAGGED PHOTO GAMIFICATION competition, which is open to all photo enthusiasts.

Udaipur Times, on the occasion of World Photography Day is organizing a Geo Tagged Photo competition, titled Tag Udaipur.  The format of the competition is based on Geo Tagged pictures.

Geo Tagged photo is photograph that is associated to a geographical location by Geo Tagging. Usually this is done by assigning at least a latitude and longitude to the image, and optionally altitude, compass bearing and other fields may also be included.

In theory, every part of a picture can be tied to a geographic location, but in the most typical application, only the position of the photographer is associated with the entire digital image. This has implications for search and retrieval.

GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPANTS

Participants in the Tag Udaipur Competition will be required to cover any of the following places:

1. Restaurant
2. Hotels
3. Schools
4. Hospitals
5. Medical Services (which includes Blood Bank, Clinic/Medical Centre, Dentist, Family/General Practice, Nursing Home, Pediatrician, Psychiatric Institute)
6. Bakery, Sweet Shops, Juice shops, Tailor shop, Beauty Parlor, Saloon/Hair dresser, Dry Cleaners, fruits and vegetable store, gift shop, newspaper store, tea/coffee shop, Photographer shop, Antique shop, Butcher shop
7. Marriage halls/marriage garden/Marriage Lawn
8. Pharmacy shop
9. Clothing Store
10. Training centers
11. Higher Education(college/University)
12. Hostel, Paying Guests, Lodges
13. Consumer Electronics Store ( which includes Mobile retailers, Mobile service centers too)
14. Fitness & Health Clubs (for e.g. Yoga classes, Gyms)
15. Bar/Pub
16. Tourist attraction

DO’s

• Pictures of various places or shops in Udaipur
• Keep the “Location” or GPS facility ”ON” while clicking picture.
• Ensure that each picture is Geo-tagged.
• Keep your device still and steady while clicking picture.
• Only after the picture is processed, move your device for the next picture.
• You should upload at least 1 picture of the name board of the place with the name clearly visible.
• Click pictures of the shop standing in the straight front of the actual shop as seen in the sample picture below.

1. Do NOT upload blur, incomplete or partial images.  No advertisements accepted
2. Do NOT upload images taken from far or other side of the road or with closed shutters
3. Do NOT images without the name of the place OR with generic names

Unaccepted Photo Samples

HOW SHOULD THE IMAGES BE SUBMITTED

1. Images need to be submitted with their title, category (what is the photograph of) and geo tag (location coordinates and physical location)
2. Images so captured along with details of the picture(s) should be submitted as a zipped folder to <READERS@UDAIPURTIMES.COM>.  Subject of the mail so sent should be prefized with TAG UDAIPUR COMPETITION 2019.  Please add your name, mobile number and email ID in the email.
3. Alternatively, in case of large images, which form a large folder, users need to upload separate files on WESENDIT (www.wesendit.com).  Participants need to send this upload link to <READERS@UDAIPURTIMES.COM> with the heading TAG UDAIPUR COMPETITION and with your name, mobile number and email ID.
