The ten day long extravaganza of ‘Shilpgram Utsav 2013’ came to an end today with a large numbers of visitors and customers coming to the show. Throughout the fest, artists and shopkeepers who had come from various corners of the country received warm response from the crowd.
The ten day long extravaganza of ‘Shilpgram Utsav 2013’ came to an end today with a large numbers of visitors and customers coming to the show. Throughout the fest, artists and shopkeepers who had come from various corners of the country received warm response from the crowd.
Shilpgram fest, which is known for promoting folk art and artists succeeded in its mission this year as well with amazing performances on Kalangan, the stage of Shilpgram.
Sales at various counters were also very promising. Visitors were seen shopping for Kashmiri Shawls, Woolen Caps, Sweaters, Jackets, Decorative, Home Decors, Jute Bags, Wooden Furniture, Shoe wears, seasonal food products, and items of kitchen use.
The performances on Kalangan began with ‘Raavan Hattha Vaadan’ which was followed by musical performance by Maanganiyaar Singers. Sikkim’s artists performed ‘Ghaantu Dance’ which was equally matched by next performance of ‘Thang-Ta’ by Artists of Manipur. Assam’s ‘Bihu Dance’, Tamilnadu’s ‘Kaavdi Kadgam’ and ‘Bhangada’ performances were also cherished by the audience.
Event was led by Vilas Jhanve, Himani Dixit and Durgesh Chandwani.
Shailendra Dashora, Director thanked all the Cultural Boards and Centers along with District Administration, Police Department, Health Department, Udaipur Municipal Council, RSEB Ajmer, SBBJ Bank, Axis Bank, IDBI Bank, Band of Maharashtra, Artists and art lovers of Udaipur for making the event successful.
