A District Level Inter-School Group Dance Competition was organized today by the Aravali Institute of Technical Studies (AITS) at the Nagar Parishad auditorium. 18 schools of the city participated in this event, where Alok School was declared the winner with Adinath Senior Secondary School and Digambar Jain School taking up 2^nd and 3^rd positions respectively.

The competition was limited to students of class 11^th and 12^th. Out of the 22 schools who had registered, 18 made it finally to the event.

The Chief Guests for the event were B.R Bhati, A.D.M District, Vineet Baya, Director, P.T Education, Udaipur, R.R Sharma, Principal, B.N Public school and Shahnaaz Badruddoza, Principal, Central Academy School, Sec-3, Hiran Magri.

Hemant Dhabai, director of AITS said, “Usually we conduct matches of Table Tennis and Chess every year but this is the first time that we have organized a dance competition for school students.”

The winners of the competition, students of Alok Senior Secondary school presented contemporary dance, while students of Adinath Senior Secondary School and Digambar Jain School impressed the audience and judges with folk dance. The Judges for the event were Dr. Ramesh Nagda, Sangeeta Sharma and Manju Sarupriya.

The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by B.R Bhati. The winners were given mementos and cash prizes of Rs. 11,000, Rs. 8,000 and Rs. 5,000 for the first, second and third positions.
