It was an exciting day today for dogs and their masters as Rajasthan Veterinary Association organized a Dog Show at Maharana Bhupal Stadium. With more than 250 entries, around 28 different breeds of dogs took part in the show.

The show also included a special demonstration by the dog squad of CISF (Central Industrial Security Force).

Divisional Commissioner Subodh Kumar Agarwal and District Collector Ashutosh Pednekar inaugurated the program by freeing pigeons as a symbol of peace. Both officers inspected the program and met participating dog’s masters.

Several competitions like Fancy Dress, Minor Puppy, Puppy, Adult Male and Female Dogs were held today.

Not only have the small and commonly known breeds as such as Pug, Dachshund, Pomeranian were seen in good numbers but bigger breeds like Labrador retriever, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, Doberman, Great Dane, Rottweiler, Chinese shar pei  and French Mastiff also added zeal among the audience.

11 ‘well dressed’ Dogs participated in the fancy dress competition, where a Pomeranian owned by Manish Sharma won 1^st prize while a Labrador owned by Neeraj Kumar stood second and Sunil Som’s German Shepherd won third prize.

Demonstration by special dog squad of CISF remained the center of the attraction. Four black Labradors and their handlers presented great skills and showcased an example of obedience and discipline.

Handlers directed their dogs to identify a bag containing suspicious illegal substance. Many unusual techniques and skills were presented too. Dogs earned several rounds of appraise by the audience.

The special show by CISF’s dog squad was presented under the direction of Ajit Kumar Commandant CISF Udaipur.
