[Photos] Motor Rally marks International Women’s Day
Women of Udaipur celebrated International Women’s Day by taking part in the massive motorcade procession. Ladies dressed in orange attires with Mewari pagri rode motorbikes, scooters, and cars all over the city.
Women of Udaipur celebrated International Women’s Day by taking part in the massive motorcade procession. Ladies dressed in orange attires with Mewari pagri rode motorbikes, scooters, and cars all over the city.
The procession also included colorful tableaus, exhibiting women empowerment and portraying role of a woman in the society and family.
Started from Luv Kush Stadium, the rally was organized by the Women Cell of Shree Mahaveer Yuva Manch Sansthan.
Rally was flagged off by Gulabchand Kataria (State Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj), Rajkumar Fattawat (Chief Patron of Mahaveer Yuva), Madhu Mehta (Zila Pramukh), Rajni Dangi (Mayor) and Lokesh Kothari (President of Mahaveer Yuva).
Heena Mehta, one of the members, led the rally on her roller skates. She was followed by two female motorcyclists and Mayor Rajni Dangi was seen driving a Jeep.
Various Tableaus projecting women empowerment caught the attention of people. Around 200 women rode on their scooters. Some female foreign tourists also joined the caravan and celebrated the special day.
Women Cell’s President Vijay Laxmi Galundia announced from 8th March 2014 to 8th March 2015 as Mahila Jagran Varsh and extended her gratitude to all participants for making the procession successful.
