The several feet high Tazias were carried out today in Udaipur as Muslim community marked the 10^th Day of Muharram which is highly known for the sacrifice of Imam Hussain ibn Ali, Grandson of Prophet Muhammad in the battle of Karbala.

Tazias, an effigies symbolizing mausoleum of Imam Hussain were carried out from different places of the city and gathered at old city area to form a large procession. Devotees irrespective of their religious belief paid their tributes to the tazia and offered garlands, coconuts and fruits as a part of tradition.

Young men chanting ‘Ya Hussain’ heldtazia on their shoulders and walk through the procession route. The procession concluded at Pichola Lake where Tazias were submerged in the water.
