Independence Day was celebrated in Udaipur at Bhandari Dharshak Mandap with various colorful presentations. State Education Minister Dr. Dayaram Parmar hoisted the flag and saluted the parade. He honored the freedom fighters by offering them shawls and recalling their contribution in the freedom struggle.
Dr. Parmar inspected the parade led by Commander I.R. Satpal Singh and took the salute of the march past. He inspected the parade in which Police, Homeguard, NCC cadets, Guide girls and Scout boys, Student Police Cadet, Police Band and Jail Band participated. He honored the freedom fighters Manohar Lal Audichaya, Lalit Mohan Sharma, Shrimati Shanta Devi Surana, Shrimati Amri Bai and Kaushalya Devi. Additional District Collector (Administration) Narayan Singh read out the message of the Governor to the people of the state. The chief guest then honored 36 people with citation for their achievements.
Under the guidance of Wing Commander S.R. Singh, NCC Cadets presented an Aero modelling show which became the center of attraction of the event. NCC cadets Rupendra Singh Rathore, Pratibha Jhalan, Shweta Sirawal exhibited a commendable Aeromodelling show. In the presence of State Education Minister, 1000 school students performed aerobics on patriotic tunes and deaf/dumb students also presented their act giving patriotic message. Students performed a group dance where they exhibited folk traditions of the state.
Festival authorization’s Vice Chairman Dinesh Khodnia, City MLA Gulab Chand Kataria, District Head Madhu Mehta, Mayor Rajni Dangi, UIT President Roop Kumar Khurana, District Congress President Nilima Sukhadia, Socialworker, Kailash Manav, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Subodh Agarwal, Rajasthan Tribal University’s Chancellor T.C. Damor, Collector Ashutosh Pendekar, I.G. Amrit Kalash, SP Mahesh Goyal, Devsthan Commissioner Bhawani Singh Detha, Additional District Collector Mohammad Yaseen Pathan, along with councilor, social workers, and media persons plus in large numbers students and citizens attended the Independence Day celebrations.
