Nearly two thousand people took part in the fund raising “Run for Reason” marathon organized today by Round Table India and Ladies Circle India in association with Karnataka Bank.
The 8.5 km long marathon began in morning at 7 from Rajiv Gandhi Park, Rani Road. Participants of all age showed enthusiasm for the noble cause. The marathon was divided into 9 different age categories.
Run for Reason is the campaign initiated by The Round Table India to aid education in remote areas. As per Nitin Gattani, chairman of Round Table India, Udaipur Chapter, “1000 participants were expected but interestingly nearly two thousand people ran in the Marathon.”
The marathon was flagged off by Divisional Commissioner Vaibhav Galeria. Area Chairperson of Round Table India, Chirag Sethi and Area Chairperson of Ladies Circle India, Sampriti Duggad were also present on the occasion.
Saurabh Gandhi, chairman of Udaipur United Round Table India informed, “In c-9 category, Jawans of Indian Army, Amandeep Singh, Jagtar Singh and Kuldeep Singh won first, second and third positions respectively.”
While in c-1 category Rajendra Vyas, Champalal Kharadai and Vishal Gurjar succeeded in getting top three positions.
Other winners in different categories are Sakshi Kachhava, Lalita Vyas, Hansa Jat, Minakshi Prajapat, Devendra Shakti, Ashish Jain, Sanjay Murdia, Pannalal Kharadi, Shubhang Sisodia, Anita Bhanawat, Santosh Gupta, Reena Surana, Anjali Pagaria, Neeta Jain, Vishnu Shankar Joshi, Santosh Kumar and 59-year-old Dilip Kumar.
All winners received cash prizes of 11K, 7.5K and 5K rupees.
On the occasion, Sangeeta Gattani, Chairperson of Ladies Circle India, Gautam Hinger, Varun Murdia, Deepak Sharma, Yudhveer Singh Shaktawat, Deepak Bhansali, Hussain Mustafa, Dr. Manu Bansal etc were present.
