March 13^th will be celebrated across the world as the 101^st Birthday of the 52^nd Dai Dr. Sydena Mohammad Burhanuddin, spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community.  In a pre-event to celebrate the occasion, a mass procession was carried out by Udaipur’s Dawoodi Bohra Shia Jamaat today afternoon from Gandhi Ground.

The procession consisted of a large number of Bohra men dressed in their enveloping white attire and the traditional skull cap with number of bands marching in a rhythmic jingle and kids holding flags.

The center of attraction was a newly introduced ‘Brass Band’ from the Saifee Scout group.  Thousands of people from the community attended the procession which started at 3 in the afternoon from Gandhi Ground and reached Moidpura Masjid at Bohrawadi through Chetak, Hathipol, Ashiwni Bazar and Bohrawadi.

The procession was warmly welcomed by many other groups and people by offering snacks and cold drinks.

The celebrations of the 101^st birthday started a few days back with sports and social events.  Today’s function was held under the direction of Amil Sheikh Mustafa Moiyaddi.
