RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in the presence of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje inaugurated the magnificent Gaurav Pratap Kendra situated at Tiger Hill. Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Education minister Vasudev Devnani, Minister of Forests and Mines Rajkumar Rinwah, Home minister Gulab Chand Kataria and others.

The setup was inaugurated at the pre-planned time of 2:30 pm. Before the inauguration, Bhagwat and Raje paid their obeisance to Lord Ganesha. Post that the setup was inaugurated via a remote control device.

The Kendra has been under construction since 2008 and has been developed at a cost of Rs 100 Crores. The Kendra will be made open for public from Dec 9 onwards. The Kendra takes people through the history of Mewar and the different phases it went through.

The prime attraction of the setup is a 57 feet high metal statue of Maharana Pratap perched atop a hill. The setup also includes 3D presentation of Haldi Ghati war, Light & Sound Show, Live mechanical model galleries etc.

The centre also has art galleries with >300 oil paintings highlighting different phases of Pratap’s life.

Entry fees for the centre has been pegged at Rs 100 for guests. Members of educational institutions and students will be given entry at subsidised rates.
