Preparations are on for Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra
Preparations for Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra have begun.
Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra procession will take place on 14th July. The Rath Yatra committee has started preparing chariots to be used in the holy procession. Different committees have been holding meeting to make this yatra as successful as ever.
Committee officers held a meeting on Sunday as per which a representative group will be formed to inivite Mahants and other religious heads of various temples. The representative committee includes Kamlendra Singh Panwar of Bajrang Sena Mewar, Ashok Parihar of Kallaji Community, Yagya Narayan Sharma from Shiv Shakti Yatra, Ramesh Chandra Lalwani, Lala Salvi, Rajendra Sen and Shyam Baba. The representative committee will be responsible for arranging boarding and lodging for all the religious heads.
Chariots are being cleaned, painted and decorated for the upcoming Rath Yatra. Idols of lord Jagannath are placed in these chariots. Along with this, the task of placing saffron flags (kesariya pataka) in the city has also begun.
