On the day of Lord Parshuram Jayanti a colorful procession was headed from Fateh Senior Secondary School and passed through main city area of surajpol, jhiniret, asthal mandir, mukehrjee chowk, bada bazaar, clock tower, hathipol, ashiwini bazaar, delhi gate and bapu bazaar.

On the  evening prior (on 5th may) to occasion of Parshuram Jayanti  a religious program of recitation of religious songs in the glory of lord Parshuram was held at gangaur ghat.

This program was organized by Sarv Brahmin Samaj Samiti

Parshuram Jayanti is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Parshuram. He is considered as 6th incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is celebrated on the 3rd day of the bright half of Vaishakh month, also known as Akshayy Trutiya(eternal third). He always believed that the merit obtained by good acts on this day is permanent. Of the three and a half mahurats of the year, this day is half a mahurat (a time of good omen).

This is one of the most auspicious days according to the Hindu calendar. The day on which Moon, Sun and Jupiter unitedly come under Mrigshira Nakshatra is called Akshay Tritiya.

The rally also included processions of a mass marriage ceremony of 5 couples of Sarv Brahmin Samaj.

A sum of Rs. 11000/- was given to every couple from Brahmin Samaj Samiti and after wedding, a gift worth rupees 50,000 was given to each couple from Samiti.

Chief guests of today’s event were Dr.Girija Vyas, Nitya Nand Maharaj & Raasbihari Sharma.

Varjhu bai Menariya (age more than 100 years) whose grandson was getting married in this procession, donated a sum of Rs. 11000 to the samiti for the procession. The old lady was awarded with the honor by Dr.Girija Vyas.

Chief guests on the prior evening included included Dharm Narayan Joshi (President of Brahm Samaj samiti). K.K Sharma (Secretary of Brahm Samaj samiti) was special guests & Gopal Shastri.

A calendar based on the theme of Water, food, environment & safety from female fetus killing was distributed among general mass.
