January 30, 2025 - Rajasthan’s art, culture and cuisine are taking centre stage at the Bharat Parv 2025, being held at the historic Red Fort premises from January 26 to 31. Big crowds are seen thronging the Rajasthan Tourism stalls at the festival.
Rajasthan’s tableau was not part of this year's Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi but people are making the most of the tableau displayed at the Rajasthan Parv. The Teej festival procession is featured along with the rich heritage of the ancient and rare Shekhawati havelis. The lower panel of the tableau depicts old wall paintings and various mural designs found within these havelis.
Additionally, the tableau includes glimpses of the work done by the Rajasthan government in the fields of water conservation and solar energy development.
Visitors are enthralled by the folk dances and puppetry presented by artists from different regions of Rajasthan.
Students from the Indian Art Centre performed along with Rajasthani folk artists in dances like Kalbeliya, Chakri and Gair, which were highly enjoyed by the audience. Supriya Agarwal, a student of the Indian Art Centre, shared that although she was disappointed to not see Rajasthan's tableau at the Republic Day Parade, seeing it at Bharat Parv made her very happy. Kajal Solanki, a Kalbeliya dancer from Jaipur, mentioned her family had been performing this dance for many generations.
Kanwar Lal Chouhan from Bikaner, known for his seven-foot long moustache, became a major attraction at Bharat Parv. Chouhan shared that he has been taking special care of his moustache for the last 13 years and has received awards like Mr Deeg, Mr Bikana and Mr Bundi for it.
