Rajasthan Governor to Open Vice Chancellors’ Conference in Udaipur
Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde will inaugurate the West Zone Vice Chancellors Conference in Udaipur; more than 150 VCs to discuss self-reliant India through Swadeshi and technological nationalism
Udaipur, March 17, 2026 - With the objective of giving a new direction to India’s higher education system through indigenous thinking, economic nationalism and technological self-reliance, a two-day West Zone Vice Chancellors’ Conference will be held on Tuesday (March 17) at the Agriculture College Auditorium in Udaipur. The event is jointly organised by Rajasthan Vidyapeeth and the Association of Indian Universities.
Providing details, Vice Chancellor Prof. Shiv Singh Sarangdevot said that the conference will be inaugurated at 10:30 am by the Governor of Rajasthan, Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests include State Minister for PWD, Women and Child Development Manju Baghmar, Prime Minister’s Financial Advisor Gaurav Vallabh, Secretary General Pankaj Mittal and Chancellor Bhanwar Lal Gurjar.
The presidential address will be delivered by Vinay Kumar Pathak, president of AIU and Vice Chancellor of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur.
Sarangdevot added that the conference will include in-depth discussions on key topics such as indigenous innovation in higher education, economic self-reliance, development of technological capabilities and the role of universities in nation-building.
