Various religious and social programs were observed today in Udaipur on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, which is celebrated as the birth day of Lord Rama.

A mass procession was organized by Shree Ram Bajrang Sena and a blood donation camp was held at MB Hospital, while religious rituals like ‘Paath’ were observed in the temples of the city.

The procession passed through major parts of the city, and concluded with a felicitation ceremony, which took place at Nagar Parishad auditorium where people who have done considerable work for the female child and environment related projects were awarded by Shree Ram Bajrang Sena.

Mamta Sharma, Women District Head of the organization was honored for her work to stop female feticide; Ramesh Nagda for his contributions to environment and 50 other people for social work including Narendra Kanda, Durga Sharma, Shankarlal Panwar, Nirmal Dadich, Manju Gandharva, etc. The program ended with a cultural program. The Chief Guests of the program were Gulabchand Kataria ex-MLA, Rajni Dangi, Chairman, Udaipur Nagar Parishad and Bharat Sharma, social worker. Many religious programs have been held since early morning today in various temples of the city including Amriteshwar Mahadev, Sanatan Mandir, Hanuman Mandir (Ashok Nagar), etc. Continuing the ceremonies, many other temples will observe havans and other activities tonight.
