Reader Contribution|Salaam to Brigadier on his K2K Effort
It was a moment of pride to have met him again and host him at my home at Udaipur as he is on his way from Jammu to Kanyakumari as a part of the 4800 Km Bicycling expedition organised by Rotarians to support Swach Bharat Abhiyan of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi
It was a pleasure welcoming my friend Brigadier Dr. AVK Mohan, from the Armed Forces Medical Services of the Indian Armed Forces, to Udaipur. This surprise meeting took place when his team happened to commute through Udaipur on their iconic K2K Cycle Rally, which covered Kashmir to Kanyakumari, a 4,800KM long stretch!
Brig. Mohan is a trained hospital administrator and an able AMC officer with a great track record in Training, Man Management, Command and Control of Armed Forces Medical Personnel and Hospitals.
He is an accomplished adventure sports person too with prime achievements in Motorcycling and Bicycling feats across the length and breadth of India. He has covered Icy Heights, Thick Forests, Deserts and long distances on his Bike and Bicycle logging thousands of miles across his adventurous reckoning.

A very interesting fall back of this unique chance meet with Brig Mohan is about his hugely famous and trademark MOUSTACHES. He used to sport big moustache called Galmucche in Hindi, which can be seen in his earlier photographs, likened to Maharana Pratap or Raja Sooraj Mal.
Brig Mohan had them till he entered Udaipur as can be seen in photos but when I called up on him in his room at Alka Hotel, he was minus his trademark . On enquiry he told me that he has removed them in honour of Maharana Pratap and the people of Mewar.
His team was flagged off today by Home Minister, Rajasthan from base of the Monument of the legendary Maharana Pratap and I told him while leaving that he should re-grow his proud galmuccheas the people of Mewar adore brave people.
Best of luck to his team.
