“Yaad na jaye beete dinon ki”- Mohd. Rafi the playback singer of Indian cinema still lives in our hearts. It has been 38 years since he bid farewell to the world.

Arbuda Kala Sangeet Mandir evam Yog Prashikshan Sansthan, Surajpole held a Mohd. Rafi evening on Tuesday 31st July. Commemorating the great singer, singers from Udaipur gave voice to his soulful and beautiful songs from various films.

As informed by the director of the institute Vivek Agarwal, singers like KK Tripathi, Devendra Agarwal, Vinod Kumar Rawal, student Shubham Namdeo, Sonu Sharma etc. sang Rafi’s famous numbers and made hearts swoon.

A program was held in his memory in Rajasthan Vidhyapeeth as well. Gopal Joshi, Deepak Parihar, Divyanshi Bhatt, Kiran Joshi, Chandrakala Yatharth, Viresh Singh sang Rafi’s songs.

One more notable thing about this day was that famous miniature artist Mohd. Saeed Sakka made a mini 38-page book on Rafi. He has written about Mohd. Rafi’s journey as a playback singer in this book.
