Sahitya Samman Award Concludes

A ceremony to honor Litereary writers (Sahityakar Samaan Samaroh) was organized today evening under the auspices of the Rajasthan Sahitya Akadami at Govind Kothputli Sabhagar of the Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal Ved Vyas, the Chairman of the Rajasthan Sahitya Academy presided over the function, while the key note was delivered by Pankaj Bisht. Many other prominent members of the writer’s guild were present on the occasion.

A ceremony to honor Litereary writers (Sahityakar Samaan Samaroh) was organized today evening under the auspices of the Rajasthan Sahitya Akadami at Govind Kothputli Sabhagar of the Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal.

Ved Vyas, the Chairman of the Rajasthan Sahitya Academy presided over the function, while the key note was delivered by Pankaj Bisht. Many other prominent members of the writer’s guild were present on the occasion.

The executive council at the event included Ram Narayan Meena, Vice Chairman of Rajasthan Vidhansabha, Jaipur; R.P Yadav, Vice Chancellor, Rajasthan Technical University Kota; Professor Roop Singh Barhar, Vice Chancellor, Maharishi University Ajmer and A.B. Singh, a well known litterateur.

Mradula Bihari and Dr. Jayprakash Pandiya hosted the event.

The function began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a welcome speech by Ved Vyas.

The writers and novelists who won the awards for 2008-2009 are as follows:

Meera Award: Mradula Bihari, Jaipur

Sudhindra Award: Ganeshlal Gautam, Bundi

Rangey Raghav Award: Shyam Janghd, Chidawa

Devraj Upadhyay Award: Krishna Kumari, Kota

Kanhaiya Lal Sahal Award: Radhe Mohan Rai, Alwar

Bhagwan Atlani Young Writers Award: Ravi Purohit, Bikaner

Dr. Sarla Agrawal Folk Tale Award: Mukut Saxena, Jaipur

Sumnesh Joshi Award for the first publication: Raghvendra, Jaipur

Shambhudayal Saxena Award for Children Literature: Surendra Anchal, Beawer

Apart from the above, various recognition awards were also given to encourage writers. Of these, Pallavi Gurjargaud of Nathdwara got the Sudha Gupta award; Kajal Dave of Bikaner was honored with the Chandradev award for Poetry; Rajpal Singh Shekhawat of Jodhpur was given the Chandradev award for Story writing; Sripal Mohta, the Chandradev award for Essay writing and the Pardeshi award was given to Ranjna Goswami.

The writers and novelists who were honored with the awards for 2010-2011 were as follows:

Meera Award: Dr. Jaiprakash Pandya, Udaipur

Sudhindra Award: Govind Mathur, Jaipur

Rangey Raghav Award: Manisha Kulshreshta, Jaipur

Devilal Samar Award: Harish B Sharma, Bikaner

Devraj Upadhyay Award: Mohan Krishna Bohra, Jodhpur

Kanhaiya Lal Sahal Award: Nandkishore Chaturvedi, Chittorgarh

Sumnesh Joshi Award for the first publication: Om Nagar, Kota

Shambhudayal Saxena Award for Children Literature: Shambhunath Tiwari, Bhilwara

The appreciation awards for 2010-11 were given to Anita Godara of Sujangarh (Sudha Gupta award); Pallavi Sharma of Udaipur (Chandradev award for Poetry); Rina Jatoliya of Bikaner (Chandradev award for Story writing); Varsha Prajapat of Sujangarh (Chandradev award for Essay writing) and Arnim Mathur (Pardeshi award).
