After being a successful host to National Youth Festival 2010, Mohanlal Sukhadia University (MLSU) Udaipur is now ready to host 27th West Zone Inter University Youth Festival beginning from 5th December this year.

It is a national level program in which 1200 students, 40 each from 30 universities across west zone of India are expected to participate. 30 participating universities are mainly from Rajasthan, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh. Accommodation and food arrangements for the participants are done at the guest houses of the host university.

The event will be inaugurated by Ajay Maken, Central State Minister of Youth and C.P Joshi, Central Minister for Road Transport and Highways on 5th December at 10 am.

“MLSU is hosting this event for the 1st time and this year we are also celebrating Golden Jubilee of the university,” said K.C Sodani, Dean Student’s Welfare.

24 competitions like visual arts, theater, music, literature and dance will be conducted simultaneously in a period of 5 days at 5 different locations of the university.

Individual winners of the competition will be awarded trophies and the shield will be presented to the winning university in the closing ceremony on 9th December.

The event is hosted by MLSU in association with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi and is financed by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (Government of India).

Last year this inter university festival was held at Jiwani University of Gwalior, in the month of December.
