Selfless Journey:Photo Exhibition on Mother Teresa’s Life Born on 26 th August 1910, she was a catholic nun from Albania. She came to India in 1929 and started teaching at St. Teresa School in Calcutta (now Kolkata). But she was highly moved and disturbed by the poverty surrounding Calcutta and the outburst of famine in Bengal in 1943 and the Hindu Muslim riots 1946 which further worsened the situation and brought death, misery and sorrow to the city.
