St. Paul’s Sr. Secondary School, Udaipur has successfully conducted a three day seminar on the theme for the year – ‘Responsibility’ by inviting an eminent expert in the field of education and life skills, Jyotsna Bhardwaj.

The motive behind this seminar, as said by the Principal of the school, Rev. Fr. George V.J. is as follows :-

In modern era “positive parenting” is the prime responsibility of every parent. Students are distracted and parents lack time to take care of their children. St. Paul’s School, Udaipur organized a seminar for teachers on 16th April, 2015 for students of all age groups during school hours from 16th April to 18th April, 2015 and for parents in the evenings.

The seminar focuses on topics such as developing self-confidence, encouraging children, challenges of modern day parenting, causes of misbehavior and discipline, impact of media on children, etc.

Special guidance to children regarding “Power of Words”, communicating and connectedness has been given. Through the seminar the school aims at helping students to fly and yet be firmly planted to the ground.

Jyotsna Bhardwaj is a progressive educator, a consulting psychologist and a trained counselor. She specializes in students programmes such as life skills training, career guidance and other developmental issues. She is also a member of AISCAP and works as a visiting faculty with the Department of Education Psychology and Foundations of Education, NCERT, CBSE and Macmillan Publications.

On the third day during the school hours career guidance was given to VIII, IX and X standard students, and a follow-up interactive session to answer their queries was conducted and was highly appreciated by the students.

The parents of students studying in classes VIII to XII were invited in the evening on April 18, 2015. The theme of the seminar was ‘Positive Parenting and Nurturance as a Responsibility’. Jyotsna highlighted the problems of teenagers and the required support and behaviour of parents towards them.

The session went highly interactive with dozens of parents participating, by putting up their queries to Jyotsna Bhardwaj.

Principal, Fr. George V.J. also threw light on problems of parenting, towards which the school renders full support and wants them to join hands with the Principal and Staff of St. Paul’s Sr. Secondary School, Udaipur for better upbringing of the students and have a collaborative approach with the school.
