Several events During 3-Day World Wetlands Day

On the International Wetland Day tomorrow on 1st February, Wildlife Wing, Forest Department, Udaipur, in collaboration with Indian Environment Society Delhi, WWF India and The Talons, is organizing a Workshop on preparing Action Projects for Environment Conservation at Vigyan Samiti, Road no 17, Ashok Nagar from 10 AM to 12.30 AM.

On the International Wetland Day tomorrow on 1st February, Wildlife Wing, Forest Department, Udaipur, in collaboration with Indian Environment Society Delhi, WWF India and The Talons, is organizing a Workshop on preparing Action Projects for Environment Conservation at Vigyan Samiti, Road no 17, Ashok Nagar from 10 AM to 12.30 AM.

The motive to organize this workshop is to spread awareness and to generate sensitivity among the students and general public about Nature and Wetland Conservation, Biodiversity conservation, and prevention of all forms of pollution.

Several competitions will be organized in Udaipur under International Wetland Day Celebrations from 1-3 Feb, 2013. To participate in the same, forest department has invited entries from different Educational Institutions, non-government organizations and any other interested institutions or citizens.

Tomorrow, two events will be organized at aforementioned venue for which rules and entry requirements are as follows:-

Event 1: Action Project Competition (for School and College Scholars)

· All those interested are invited to submit a PPT (related to action projects on any one of the themes mentioned above) not longer than 11 slides. Place them in a folder with your name as well as institute name (ex. St.Paul-Ramesh-PPT).

· At the institute level, maximum such 3 entries will be selected for submission. Each PPT should carry the name of participant(s), class, name of the institution, contact number, e-mail etc in small letters.

· For each entry there can be a maximum of 2 participants to work and present jointly.

· The project should address the local problems and suggest solutions including the mobilization for involvement of local community. Suggestions should be such which they can themselves adopt.

· If there are sufficient entries, the best three presentations will be awarded.

Event 2: Training Workshop on Preparing Action Projects for Environment Conservation

· Different institute heads are requested to nominate any interested teachers, or incharges of NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides, Eco-clubs/nature clubs, Science clubs etc

· Good projects made in future may also be awarded or even funded.

The winners of all the events will also be taken for a Free Nature Retreat to Wetlands and Bird watching Trip on Sunday afternoon 3 Feb from 1 PM to & 7 PM

Submission of Entries: There is no entry fee, but all the entries should be accompanied with one consolidated letter and forwarded by the concerned institutional head or his authorized representative and should be submitted in the Office of the Chief Conservator of Forest (Wild Life), Forest Campus, Udaipur (Phone 2414374) on 30th January, 2013 at 11.00 AM when further details of the different programs will be discussed and explained. The entries are not expected to be submitted on any other date and time in the Forest Office. The entries can also be given to the representative of WWF Arun Soni (9828066650) or Indian Environmental Society Prakash Tater(9351552651).

Other than these, Lakeside Pleasure Cyclothon, Nature Photography, On the spot Nature Painting/Poster making, Wetland Wisdom Nature Quiz, Lake side treasure hunt etc will be organized during these three days. For more information, one can contact above mentioned numbers.
