Muslims in Udaipur are all set to observe the auspicious occasion of  Shab-e-Baraat. The community members will perform overnight prayers on the holy occasion. City Mosques have been well decorated with colorful lightings.

Maulana Shakir-ul-Qadri Faizi, Imam of the Masjid at Dholibawdi said that the night of Shab-e-Baraat is very auspicious and important for Muslims as tonight both the good and bad deeds will be checked and recorded by Allah and prayers will definitely be heard and fulfilled.

“In routine prayers, we ask God to fulfill our wishes. But tonight, God asks his disciple to state their wishes” said Maulana.

Before starting the evening prayers, Muslims visit the graveyard to pay homage to their ancestors. The houses are thoroughly cleaned and decorated. Sweets are prepared and distributed among friends and relatives.
