Shahi Mewari Pagdi Won The Hearts of Udaipur.

The gigantic attraction was “The Mewari Shahi Taaj” (The biggest turban in Asia, which is 451 meters and of 82 inches diameter and also The Smallest turban of 8 meters and of 5 inches diameter), prepared by Daulat Sen & designed by Jinesh Kothari.

 

“Maharana Pratap’s turban never bows down in front of anyone”

With these words firmly imprinted in heart, Udaipurites celebrated 2068th Vikram Shubh Samwat(Hindu New year) at sparkling Fateh Sagar on 1 April, 5 pm onwards.

The program was co-organized by Akhil Bhartiya Nav Varsh Samaroh Samiti, Udaipur Municipal Council, Alok Institute, Rotary Club of Udaipur and Bharat Vikas Parishad (Mewar)

With Fiery zeal, pious fire baton was brought down as blessing for inauguration by the proud and courageous founder Shri Shyam lal Kumawat.

To make the event more attention grabbing, creative competitions like “Fastest Turban Wrapping” &

“Finest Turban Decoration” was organized. Jury included: Narendra Singh Sisodia, Bhagwati Lal Patwa & Jignesh Jain.

With all Slogans in memory of Great Maharana Pratap, Event maintained its glory throughout.

All honorable Chief guests including Jairaj Acharya( Bharat Vikas Parishad), Dr Pradeep Kumawat(regional secratory & Director of Bhartiya Nav Varsh Samaroh Samiti, Rajni Dangi (Chairman Of Munciple Corporation, Udaipur), Sajjan Katara (Rural MLA, Udaipur) & Shyam Lal Kumawat (Chairman of Alok Sansthan),made the feast all alive and happening.

Fateh Singh Rathore, resident of Dewali, made a mark in turban decoration competition and got the first Prize. 2nd and 3rd place were followed by a young engineering student Rahul Patwa (resident of Ritu Villa) & Rahul Rajmali (resident of Bhatiyani chota) respectively.

Rahul Patwa, a youngest participant and 2nd winner of Turban deco competition is proud of Traditional value system and seemed ready and ebullient to promote the culture.

Turban wrapping competition was won by Daulat Sen with undefeatable spirit and talent. Jaiprakash Narayan, resident of sector 5 got second place in turban wrapping, followed by 3rd price winner Bhawan Lal.

“The motive behind this creative turban competition is to make the young udaipurites aware about the royal heirloom tradition of Turban, which signifies valor & honor of Mewar & to keep the memory ignited in the minds of Udaipur.” Uttered  Pradeep Kumawat.

Mrs Sajjan Katara, The rural MLA of Udaipur appreciated and boosted the morale of Mr.Pradeep Kumawat & Team.

Overjoyed Rajni Dangi(Chairman of Municipal Corporation Udaipur), expressed satisfaction with the increased water levels in the lakes of Udaipur, and considered it as an auspicious onset of the New Hindu Year.

All Participants were congratulated and appreciated by Chief Guests & Judges.

The whole Udaipur seemed like a family while reciting “Vande Matram” with lit Candles in hands at the end.

The city plunged deeply into the vortex of patriotism and royal culture of Mewar.

To put a full stop in the last, a 10 minutes film named “aao fir se diya jalayen” was telecasted.

The Celebrations 2nd day would be bringing altogether inspiring and thought provoking series of Road Shows (Nukkad nataks), which would be held at 12 different places in Udaipur. So, Folks Get ready to have a glance at awesome nukkad nataks(Apna Desh , Apna Swabhimaan) By Alok Sansthan tomorrow.
