Shakti Sunday returned to Fateh Sagar Pal on April 6 with an enthusiastic crowd and a special emphasis on electoral responsibility and the creative power of the young.
Highlights of the evening were marvelous edifying performances by the Natyansh theater group urging people to vote and protect their hard-won democracy. This was followed by practical lessons in defending your dignity, safety and person, especially for girls by the Sensei Raj Academy of Self-Defense; and that was followed by free dance lessons for the young by Bharat Verma’s Heartbeators.
There were also moving performances by a variety of “Udaipur’s got Talent!” candidates, but the real energy of the evening was generated by the youth who danced their way on stage and took over the audience’s imagination and their memory of the night.
Kids as young as 4 or 5 climbed fearlessly on the stage to dance and back up scheduled singers and stayed to perform spontaneously and delight the evening crowd.
The Shakti Sunday Steering crew thanks all participants, but is especially grateful to Udaipur’s gifted children, because it is their spontaneity and creative vitality that gives us hope for the future.
The Shakti Sunday announcers recognized this special blessing and allowed them to claim their place and dominate the stage. Please seefacebook.com/shaktisundays soon to witness the sweetness of their talent and energy.
