Shikharji Pilgrimage Commenced Successfully

Pilgrims of the Jain community are back to home today, from the ‘Mahaveer Jain Ekta Yatra’, the 10 days holy trip to Shri Sammit Shikhar Ji that started a few days ago. The special train for this purpose, Bhamasha Express, with 16 coaches named after eminent personalities of the Udaipur Jain community, arrived at Udaipur Railway Station today at 9:30 a.m. with the passengers.

Pilgrims of the Jain community are back to home today, from the ‘Mahaveer Jain Ekta Yatra’, the 10 days holy trip to Shri Sammit Shikhar Ji that started a few days ago.

The special train for this purpose, Bhamasha Express, with 16 coaches named after eminent personalities of the Udaipur Jain community, arrived at Udaipur Railway Station today at 9:30 a.m. with the passengers.

The commuters were given a warm welcome at the station by friends, family, community members and a musical band.

Shikharji Pilgrimage Commenced Successfully

There were various activities conducted for the pilgrims on the Bhamasha Express itself, the winners of which were awarded attractive gifts by todays Chief Guest Gulab Chand Katariya at the Railway station itself.  Other eminent people present were Rajni Dangi, Kiranmal Savansukha, Rajesh Chittoda, Niraj Singhvi and Pramod Samar.

Some of the places where the train took them were Parasnath, Pawapuri, Gaon Mandir, Jal Mandir, Lachuwad, Guniya Ji, Panch Pahad Yatra, Gaya, Shikhar Ji, etc.

According to sources, pilgrims who went on the trip were of all ages starting from 5 year-olds to 80 year-olds.  Though it was raining when they reached Sammit Shikhar Ji, all of them went on a height of 27kms to pay homage to the salvation place of 20 out of 24 Teerthankaras of Jain Gurus.

As the sources informed UT, all the pilgrims were pleased with all the arrangements, food, accommodation and travel, all of which was done by the Mahaveer Yuva Manch.  They all praised the efforts put in by the team of community to make the trip comfortable for them.

Before leaving Udaipur all the pilgrims were gifted blankets, bags, bed sheets and other daily use products.

On December 27th 2011, 1132 Jain pilgrims had left for the trip from Udaipur Railway station on a special train, Bhamasha Express.  Mahaveer Yuva Manch, the main organizing committee and other Jain committees with many prominent personalities of the city were present on this day at the railway station to see off the pilgrims on a successful journey.
