The most awaited event, Shilpgram Fest, is about to happen soon. As per information received, the fest will take place in March. This time it will be held from 13th March to 19th March for 7 days and not 10 days like every year.
The fest is quite late this time. People have waited long enough and the year 2020 left everyone craving for this special event. The 7-day fest will have art and culture from 23 states. The second fest of this year will be held from 21st December to 30th December like every year. WZCC has started making arrangements for the fest.
The highlights for the 7-day fest in March are as follows:
The fest will have a 3-day Ritu-Vasant programme and the other 4 days will have performances from various folk artists. The Ritu-Vasant will be held from 15th March to 17th March. Performing artists from Rajasthan, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Mizoram, Assam, Tripura, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, Odisha, Puducherry, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Punjab, Nagaland, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Laddakh, Maharashtra, Daman and Diu and the Union territories enthral the audiences every year and this time, too, their performances will be a good source of relief from the routine life. Covid guidelines will be strictly followed. Only 200 people will be allowed to gather at one time at one place. The timing for cultural programmes has been reduced to 1 hour which was around 2 and a half hours pre-covid.
The numbers of stalls have also been reduced to half. There will be a good gap between 2 stalls and 200 stalls for handicraft items and 26 food stalls have been permitted this year. The last Shilp Gram fest witnessed almost 1.5 lakh tourists. The fest also provides good business opportunities for the hotel and travel industry in Udaipur.
