The efforts of West Zone Cultural Center in Shilpgram Utsav 2014 soared high on the third day of the festival which saw locals and tourists flocking in the fair and experiencing the art, culture, tradition and shopping.

The third day of the festival attracted people to shop for the household items, jewelry, bamboo craft and apparels made by North Eastern craftsmen etc. While the impressionists entertained the shoppers, the Banjara Food Zone outside the Vareli Hut presented sumptuous dishes.

The bus services also commenced on Tuesday from Fateh Memorial via Surajpol, Delhigate, Hathipol, Chetak Circle, Fatehpura and Devali to Shilpgram. The Transport Department has made an appeal to the general public to use the local transport for commuting.

The highlight of the 3rd day of the Utsav was the Rogan Art from the village of Kutch which is slowing walking towards its extinction. Artist Arab Haasam Khatri and his son Abdul Hamid Khatri are the torch bearer of this art who are striving to bring it back in vogue.

The Rogan Art which came to India around 300 years back from Persia is an exquisite cloth printing work that uses bright paste of paint on cloth done by a stick, a rod or a metal block. Arab Haasam is a pro of this art who is gaining attention in the festival with his elaborate designs on clothes.

The evening at Shilpgram Utsav started off with Vangla Dance of Mizoram followed by Dekhni Dance of Goa and Rauf of J&K.

‘Nritya Rupa’- a dance musical show by Sangeet Natak Academy was an amalgamation of Classical dances in which Arun Shankar (Bharatnatyam), Gauri Divakar (Kathak), Shagun Bhutani (Odissi), Devi Singh (Manipuri) and M. Amaljeet (Kathakali) showcased a splendid performance.

Besides these, Baiga Karma and Mayur Dance spread a unique beauty through dance performance.
