Shilpgram Utsav 2015 Begins

One of the most awaited events of the city Shilpgram Utsav started at Hawala’s Shilpgram on 21st Dec.

The inauguration was done by Rajasthan State Governor Kalyan Singh. The 10-Day Shilpgram Utsav 2015 which is acclaimed globally as an ultimate destination to witness artisans and folk musicians is also known for its most vibrant and diverse conglomeration.

The inauguration was done by Rajasthan State Governor Kalyan Singh. The 10-Day Shilpgram Utsav 2015 which is acclaimed globally as an ultimate destination to witness artisans and folk musicians is also known for its most vibrant and diverse conglomeration.

Organized by West Zone Cultural Center (WZCC), the announcement of the event was done through beating of the folk instrument Nagada. State ministers, local administrative officials and politicians were present during the inauguration ceremony.

Shilpgram Utsav 2015 Begins The local folk artists welcomed the chief guests Governor Kalyan Singh and other dignitaries by applying tilak. Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria, Arjun Lal Meena MP, WZCC’s officials including Furqan Khan-Director, Sudhanshu Singh-Additional Director and other officers welcomed the guests by presenting bouquets.

Kalyan Singh explored the Shilpgram’s Haat Bazaar and admired the work of craftsmen. He also visited Muktakashi Rangmanch and enjoyed dance performances by various renowned artists from different states. A book ‘Takshmani’ based on promoting arts and artists was also launched.

The Governor admired the efforts made by West Zone Cultural Center and emphasized on continuous development of the event which proved to be vital and the best way to conserve traditional art and music.

Kaanch ka Nagada by Narendra Kushwaha, Gotipua Dance performance by group from Odisha, Satrangi Jhanki by Gujarati Artists, Bhapang Vadan by Umar Farookh of Alwar, Stick Performance by Manipuri Artists etc were performed on the first day of Shilpgram Utsav 2015.
