The much awaited International Kite Festival marked its beginning in the city at Maharana Bhopal Stadium today at 10am with a colorful inauguration ceremony followed by the parade of all International and National Kite flyers participating in this three day event.

It is for the first time that our city Udaipur is hosting an International Kite Festival with such a large level.

The festival was inaugurated by Superintendent of Police Alok Vashisht

The other dignities present were, Chief Guest for the inauguration program  Hemant Gera (District Collector), T.L. Meena(I.G), Rekha Gupta (Additional Director, Tourism), Tej Raj Singh (Ad.S.P) and M.L. Chouhan (ADMCT).

Renowned Kite Flyers from Thailand, Singapore, France, Kuwait, Turkey, UK, Germany, Netherlands and Indonesia including Indian Kite flyers are participating in this event.

Today’s main attraction was French team’s different attractive and huge sized kites and one remote controlled kite. Udaipur’s sky was filled with colorful kites from different nations with a global message of peace and love.

Tomorrow on 2^nd day of Kite Festival, different competitions are going to be held. The event will start from morning 10AM to 4PM.
