Somani missed to make historical victory in CA Elections

Udaipur’s Chartered Accountant Devendra Somani closely missed the Regional Council Elections of Chartered Accountants with only 35 votes.

None of the candidates from Udaipur has ever won these elections. In 2009 CA Rakesh Lodha while in 2012 CA Nirmal Soni tried their luck but could not make it. This year two candidates from Udaipur, viz. Nirmal Soni and Devendra Somani were fighting the regional elections.

31 candidates were fighting for 10 seats and out of 38000 voters 17000 took part in the voting. CA Somani was strong contender and till last he was on 10th position. Somani was almost close to win when he was leading his close contender CA Charchil Jain from Indore with 44 votes but after disqualification of Jaipur’s CA Sachin Jain Somani could not maintain the lead and lost with only 35 votes.

The CA fraternities of city were preparing for this election from past three months but the last result disappointed the group and once again there is no representative from Udaipur in the CA Council.
