On the last day of State Level Postal Department conference, the topic of ‘Mail Network Optimization Project (MNOP)’ and ‘Issuing Handheld equipment to Postal employees in Rural Areas’ were discussed.

Colonel D.K.S Chauhan informed, “The handheld devices can be used for making direct entries, maintaining logs and records and to convert all the tasks in digital manner, which a postal department employee has to deal daily on field.”

“MNOP will overlook the total number of mails and optimizing the routing and speed up the current process of mail delivery. Postal department also targets to increase the revenue growth to 30% in the financial year 2014-15,” he added.

On the first day of the conference, integration of core banking project in the post office department was discussed. It was informed that Udaipur – Rajsamand will be seeing this development in coming months.

It was stated that, 50 ATMs will be installed in the region, which also includes 22 such places in Udaipur – Rajsamand.
