Statue crafting kick started at Shilpgram on Monday with collaborative effort of Western culture centre, South and mid cultural centre Nagpur and Lalit art academy Delhi. 36 craftsmen from 14 various states will be seen crafting their statues on marble in coming twenty days.

The workshop was inaugurated at Kalavihar of Shilpgram by senior artist Mr. Suresh Sharma and Prof. L.L. Verma and director Mr. Furkan Khan. Mr. Khan further expressed his views that there should be a divine bond between the craftsman and the one who appreciates the art and for this, direct communication pays a pivotal role.

The workshop will include artists from Rajasthan, Gujrat, Maharashtra, Punjab, UP, MP, Chattisgarh, Orrisa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Tripura etc. Prof. Sharma  told that Shilpgram has always come up with new attractions and the combination of Nagpur cultural centre and Art Academy will add another feather to its cap
