String Puppet Show to dedicate Life of Swami Vivekananda
Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal in association with Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi and Indira Gandhi National Art Center is organizing a String Puppet Play based on the life and the objectives of Swami Vivekananda.
Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal in association with Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi and Indira Gandhi National Art Center is organizing a String Puppet Play based on the life and the objectives of Swami Vivekananda.
The 72 minute play “Swami Vivekananda” will be showcased at Loka Kala Mandal on 29th Oct at 7:30 pm. There is no entry charge for the audiences.
The program is organized on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. According to Riyaz Tehsin, president of Lok Kala Mandal, the play is orchestrated in a way to learn about the high moral values of Swami Vivekananda and also facilitate the art of puppetry to regain its attraction.
Play is directed by Shyam Mali, assistant director of Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal, and written by Dr. Laiq Hussain. It took 8 months to complete the play.
The play was first showed on 11th August 2013 at Swami Vivekananda Hall and later to many well known schools of Delhi.
Till now the show has been presented 27 times in Gujarat and 8 times in Delhi.
